A Security and Compliance Officer plays a big role in a transactional print and mail company. They are critical to ensuring compliance and data security within the organization. In this episode of Ask the Experts, Information Security and Compliance Officer Dwight Springthorpe discussed his role and why it’s necessary in the industry.
“A Security and Compliance Officer is a key factor to what PCI Group provides our clients, and that is data security. My role is responsible for monitoring the data and operations for PCI Group at all of our locations to make sure that your data is secure from the moment it enters our network until the envelope leaves and the data returns to you,” Dwight explained.
Not all transactional print and mail companies have full-time officers, but PCI Group believes it’s a necessity. It protects the company’s and their clients’ interests. The position also ensures compliance adherence. “I make sure that PCI Group adheres to regulations and audits for PCI DSS, SOC I & II, HIPAA, and HITRUST. They all have special requirements, and they are very critical to our operations,” Dwight noted.
Dwight also collaborates with clients on best practices for security and discusses the company’s protocols relating to security and compliance. Learn more about Dwight’s role and how it keeps the company and its clients safe, secure, and compliant by watching the video.
