When creating dummy data, is there anything I should avoid?

When creating dummy data, such as that used on generic forms, avoid using a dummy ZIP code. Instead, use “X” in place of the ZIP code numerals.

e.g. John Smith 123 Main Street Anytown, NY XXXXX

This is necessary because “Anytown” does not exist in New York and will therefore be rejected by our ZIP code checking software. One suggestion is to use your company’s street and city-state-zip as the “dummy” data on samples.
